The annual release of major PlayStation fiction games will begin in 2025

Apparently, the second half of the ninth generation for PlayStation will be much more exciting than the first half.

As revealed in the recent quarterly financial report, sales of games on the PlayStation platform have increased. After creating a controversy earlier this year by confirming the non-release of major games until April 2025, this company plans to launch an important single-player game every year from the next financial year onwards.

This process will begin with the release of Ghost of Yōtei by Soccer Punch Studio in 2025. The said game was unveiled about a month ago and its first trailer looked very attractive. Ghost of Yōtei is told about 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and players will have more control over the game's hero while experiencing it.

Despite strong software sales, Sony expects its studios' profits to decline in the second half of fiscal 2025 compared to last year. Part of this is due to the success of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Helldivers 2. However, company executives assure fans that continuous progress in developing new games and improving the quality of live-service works will continue seriously.

Concord was Sony's latest service-oriented game that experienced a catastrophic failure, and the studio behind it eventually shut down for good. Other live-service works that are being developed by PlayStation studios include Marathon from Bungie Studio and Haven Fairgame$ from Haven Studio.
